How You Can Help

"We continue to stand in and rely upon Solidarity from all around the world to save the South Central Farm, and everything it stands for. As a team we must unite in our efforts to preserve open space and protect these wholesome and healing lands for the people to live and thrive on and especially for our children and many generations to come.

Action that can be taken NOW to help save the Farm is

1.) to post the ongoing story of the struggle online to spread the word that people are working together to change the direction and definition of urban development to include social and environmental justice and food security for all. Post a link to our websites, www.southcentralfarmers.org and www.southcentralfarmers.com for others to learn of the movement for urban farms.

2.) Call and email Congresswoman Jan Perry. Her presides over the district wherein lies South Central Farm and has been outspoken against saving the farm and rallies instead for her agenda of "creating jobs" thus justifying building a factory or warehouse in an area of abandoned warehouses. In addition, the farm provides gainful income for the farmers and their families thorugh sale of organic fresh produce and herbs. Furthermore, the longterm plan for the farm includes construction of a "green" commuity and jobs training center to help supply even greater benefit to the local community, offering many jobs in and of itself. Call or email Jan Perry and tell her to SAVE THE FARM and how you think it serves the public good. jan.perry@lacity.org (213)

3.) Plant a garden or farm or tree circle in your community, yard, school. Make this contribution toward creating more opportunities for people to get in the land, touch the planet, "get their hands dirty".

4.) Share this information with others!

Let's create green over gray together!

Thank you for doing your part to save the largest urban garden.
The Farm is at: 41st Street and Alameda Los Angeles, CA 90058
